Our driver and Guide, Claude, made the tour interesting, funny and enjoyable and he maintained his attention to everyone all through the day. He kept everyone involved and communicated info about the vineyards and surrounding areas with humor and noteworthy tidbits. The cruise provided an initial tasting experience, and based on previous experience, we were not expecting much. We were pleasantly surprised, the Sauvignon blanc and Shiraz being the 2 outstanding wines. At the 2 Vineyards, Windy Creek stood out as having the better tasting wines, their Shiraz (2014) is outstanding. Excellent lunch at Heaford Glen after tasting their wines Margaret River Chocolate Factory was an indulgent after lunch stop, then a craft brewery to end the day. Well done Out and About Tours - well worth the time for those strapped for time.
Fabulous day of wine tasting, chocolate tasting, brewery visit and lunch…wonderful introduction to the Swan Valley. Barrie was a great host…very informative about the area and very helpful in every way possible. Would highly recommend this tour to get a sampling of 3 wineries (large and boutique) as well as a beautiful drive around the Swan Valley.
We went on the cruise and vineyard tour. It was a wonderful day. Lovely cruise with wine tasting. Then we were met by Claude who drove us around. He is knowledgeable and remembers everyones name. I wouldn't hesitate to do one of his tours again when we get back to Perth. Mat and I had a great day.
We enjoyed a terrific day with a really interesting variety of activities. The cruise was good. Then we met Claude who drove us around for a wine tour, chocolate tasting and brewery experience. Went to see Swan Valley for a bit of leisure. The great thing about this tour is, that it is split. You can go by Captain Cook Cruises first, departing from Perth quays. The 2 hours ride takes you up the river to Sandalford Jetty. - This is where the bus awaits you to take you around Swan Valley. Bus driver was great. People were really nice. - Afterwards the bus drops you off at Perth CBD again. - For my experience much better than just the river cruise, because you see more places and don’t take the long river ride home. - only thing you miss is the first two visits of the bus tour. Because when you join in Sandalford, the bus already did visits before. But the combination of boat and bus definitely weighs this up.
